This program allows unsheltered individuals or families to come into the shelter during time of inclement weather. This is normally done during nights of extreme cold (when the nightly temperature drops below 36 degrees Fahrenheit), but we have also opened our doors during times of hurricane scares. Homeless individuals are allowed into the men’s and women’s common areas respectively at 8:00 pm, are fed dinner, and given a couch or cot to sleep on for the night. In the morning, they are given breakfast before they leave. During the past year, 2020, Our Daily Rest White Flag Shelter has served 145 individuals on 58 separate nights.
