To protect our staff and residents, we are asking anyone who feels sick or has a temperature to visit a doctor and get tested before coming to our shelter.
Once accepted, new residents will be asked to shower and wash all of their clothing.
Limitations will be in place on residents to reduce the risk of affecting the staff and resident population. These restrictions will be explained in detail. (Updated 3/18/2022)
The 1-2-3- Home program is the main feature of our shelter and has been in place since we opened our doors on August 19, 2009. This program is specifically designed to aid our clients in their transition from homelessness to a life of self-sufficiency and financial independence. This program is completed in weekly stages over the course of our clients stay at Our Daily Rest, which usually lasts around four (4) months. Each stage focuses on a different lesson that will help our clients work through the reasons that have landed them at the shelter, and then focuses on how to change their lives to prevent these issues from recurring in the future. Through this program, our clients learn the importance of dedication, budgeting responsibilities and how to conduct themselves in a professional manner. In 2019, Our Daily Rest sheltered 168 individuals.
